A subdomain is part of a web address that is under the main domain name, for example name.example.com. Technically, even in www.example.com the "www" element is a subdomain since the fully qualified domain name is only "example.com". Each subdomain can have its own website and records and can also be hosted through a different company if you want to use some feature that's not offered by your current service provider. An example for using a subdomain is if you have a business website and an online store under a subdomain where clients can purchase your products. You can also have a forum in which they can comment on the products and by employing subdomains as opposed to subfolders you will avoid any risk of all websites going down if you perform maintenance, or update one of the website scripts. Keeping the websites separated is also less risky in case of a script security breach.

Subdomains in Shared Web Hosting

Our shared web hosting packages will enable you to set up hundreds of subdomains for every domain name hosted within your account without any difficulty. As long as the main domain address is added, it requires two clicks to set up a subdomain and select what folder it'll open (if different from the default one), set custom error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, and a lot more. All subdomains will be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for quick access and administration. By right-clicking on any of them and by using instant access buttons you can see the error logs, visitor statistics or site files for that particular subdomain. We haven't set a limit for the total number of subdomains that you can create with any of our plans, so you can have as many as you wish.

Subdomains in Semi-dedicated Servers

When you get a semi-dedicated server plan, you will be able to create as many subdomains as you want simply because this feature is unrestricted. For the reason that the hosting packages are rather powerful, we've decided not to put any cap on the number of subdomains. Our sophisticated Hepsia Control Panel will enable you to create a new subdomain with no more than a few mouse clicks, to choose which folder it is going to access inside the account, to activate FrontPage Extensions for it, to create unique error pages, to set a shared or a dedicated IP address if you have one, and more. For your convenience, all subdomains are going to be listed under their root domain, so that you can very easily see and control them. Using fast access links, you will also have the ability to open the website files for any of the subdomains that you have or view its DNS records.
